SINGAPORE (Reuters) – Donald Trump’s aides filed paperwork for his 2024 White Home bid on Tuesday as the previous president launched a run to regain the presidency, aiming to pre-empt potential Republican rivals.
Trump, searching for a possible rematch with Democratic President Joe Biden, made his announcement at his Mar-a-Lago property in Florida every week after midterm elections through which Republicans didn’t win as many seats in Congress as they’d hoped.
Republicans are in the meantime closing in on the 218 seats they should take a majority within the 435-seat Home of Representatives.
